Mobile development of applications and hardware is so fast that most systems and devices become obsolete after only a year. Currently, four major areas of mobile technology have seen constant enhancements as they're being incorporated into newer smartphones and tablets. These include additional gestures for better human-machine interaction, a more intuitive user interface, dual views and multiple windows, and optical recognition of text and human faces.
Microsof company has established a Samsung Galaxy phones of basic gestures for its Windows 8 customer interface on touchscreen-enabled devices. These static and manipulation gestures include tap, press and hold, slide, swipping, turn, pinch, and extend. With the speed of development among mobile devices, more human gestures have been added into this set. These include waving a hand over the screen, finger hovering over the screen, and looking at the screen. Although eye tracking technology is still far from being complete, sensing the location and movement of the user's head and eye is one of the advanced features to emerge among newer models of phones and tablets. Right now, a device can sense anytime the user looks away from the screen and it sets a video on hold until the user seems at the screen again. Another intuitive feature is the accelerometer, which senses the position of the device both on horizontally and vertical planes. The common example would be the immediate change in orientation from a straight view to a panorama view when shifting the phone's position. When the phone's tilted forward or backward, the page also scrolls up and down based on the direction. Most cell phones and tablets now have front and rear digital cameras. Both cameras may be activated while taking a photography or recording a video. The user takes a self-shot image using the front camera and adds it to the image taken by the trunk camera. The same can be done with a video. The two video cameras are also used during a movie call where the front camera shows the face of the caller and the rear camera shows a view of the caller's surroundings. New mobile devices also have the capability to view multiple windows of different applications. With regard to example, users can open the YouTube software to watch music videos and open the browser to browse the web at the same time. In addition, cell phones of the same model and producer can form a local network and are musicians or games simultaneously. In the beginning, phones and tablets announced a capacity to identify a QR code, which is a vector image that contains data. Now, devices can actually read text and associate them with dictionary entries. In addition to optical readers, devices can also map out human faces and identify distinct characteristics. This facial recognition feature is useful as a security measure besides thumbprint scans and voice hair. Of course, these features aren't inclusive at all. Eye tracking technology is under development now. Producers see tremendous applications of this technology in the medical science and health care as well as in gaming and other varieties of entertainment.
